If you have a son or daughter... or grandchild... or niece or nephew entering 6th–12th grade this school year – we would like to invite them to come and join our New Perspective Youth Group (NPYG)! We meet the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month, and we do several fun activities throughout the year. Every summer, the Senior High students go on a week-long Mission Trip away from home, and the Mid-High students stay in the Columbus area for a week of fun Mission "Un-Trip" events. We have lots of fun during the year, and do many fundraising activities (to help pay for the trips)! It is a great way for your child to meet other kids their age, get involved in helping and serving others, and just have fun and experience fellowship!

Important Upcoming Dates:

• April 13 (Sat) – ALL YOUTH need to be at church between 8:00am - 12:00 noon (or any few hours during that time) to help make the spaghetti dinner and set up tables. Parents are welcome to stay and help. Please bring sharp knives and cutting boards. If you have Silent Auction donations - we need them no later than April 13.
• April 14 (Sun) – Annual Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction after worship service. ALL YOUTH need to be available to help serve and clean up the Spaghetti Dinner/Silent Auction following worship service. Regular meeting canceled for Sun night.
• April 28 (Sun) – Set up for Rummage Sale following Services. Now is a good time for all of you to clean your rooms and donate any items you no longer use!
• April 28 (Sun) – Regular NPYG meeting, Goodwill Room, 5:30 - 7:30pm
• May 4 (Sat) – Rummage Sale - All youth should report to the Goodwill Room for assignments between 7:30am - 4:00 pm
• May 12 (Sun) – No meeting (Mother's Day)
• May 19 (Sun) – Youth Group is hosting Coffee Hour after services!
• May 19 (Sun) – NPYG Welcome and Farewell Celebration, Location/Time TBD (see below)
• May 26 (Sun) – No meeting (Memorial Day)

Save the Date – May 19, 2013! This is an important date for ALL youth currently in 5th - 12th grades. We will say goodbye to our Seniors! We will also move up 8th graders to Senior High Youth Group, and we will officially welcome ALL kids currently in 5th grade to NPYG. If you have a child in 5th grade, please send an email with your child's name and your email address to newsletternpyg@gmail.com so we can properly invite them! OR, if you have a child who has not been a part of New Perspective Youth Group, please send us an email with their name and age!

Silent Auction: Not to be a broken record... but there are about 25 kids going on the Mission Trip this year. EACH youth should be donating AT LEAST 2 items for the Silent Auction on April 14. We need to know what your donations are and have them in our hands by April 13. This is a big fund raiser, and we earn quite a bit of money to fund the Mission Trip and Un-Trip. Even if you are not going on the Mission Trip - pay it forward and please get some items donated. It has been VERY easy this year to secure donations. If you have questions contact Ann Bennett or Claudia Perry. If you still have items for the silent auction that have not been turned in - please let us know what you have and the value. Thanks!

Summer Meetings: We will not have regular meetings on the 2nd and 4th Sundays in June/July/August. Please check your email for activities that we will plan. Some ideas that we are talking about - Camp out one night - Phat Fridays at Sports Ohio - Swimming Party - Visit the Perkins Observatory - Etc.. If you have any fun ideas you would like to do as a group this summer - let us know.

2013 Mission Trip: We will be headed to Appalachia Service Project (ASP) in Tennessee June 23 - 29! We are very excited about this upcoming service opportunity for our Senior High students. PLEASE NOTE: If you plan to attend the 2013 Mission Trip, your $100 deposit is due now! Please make checks to Dublin Community Church, and put "ASP Mission" in the memo line. Make sure to let Claudia/Jen know if you plan to go on the Mission Trip, so we can start getting an accurate head count.

2013 Mission Un-Trip: This year's Mission Un-Trip will be the week of June 24 - 28. Any youth entering 6th through 8th grade next school year is invited and encouraged to attend. The Un-Trip is our church's week of local mission work for the mid-high youth. All events for the week occur in-and-around Central Ohio, and your youth will be home every night. If you have any questions, or if you have a youth who is interested in participating in this year's Un-Trip, please email Ann Bennett at annbennett@columbus.rr.com. Ann will establish a contact list and start forwarding pertinent information as it becomes available.

Birthday Boxes: We are still putting birthday boxes together. Cake mixes, icing, candles, napkins, tablecloths and any other accessories are needed! THANKS – the food pantry has loved these, and the people who get them are very happy to have them!

NPYG T-Shirts: Still available for $10 each. Can be bought at meetings or at church on Sunday mornings. Get yours while they last!

NPYG on Facebook: We have a page on Facebook. There is lots of great information and more pictures there for you. Sign up if you have not already done so. If you have a Facebook page, please LIKE New Perspective Youth Group! We send announcements through Facebook and will be using it for our Acts of Kindness.
